The USA Pans New England Hot Dog Pan is constructed of aluminized steel, the material of choice for commercial bakeries. Hot Dog Pan measures 15 x 6 x 1.5 inch. Provides space to make 10 buns. This pan is not only perfect for hot dog buns; it's also great for making hoagies and rolls. The metal thickness of this pan has been selected to allow for even heat distribution and maximum service life. No need for messy and unhealthy oil and grease. This pan is coated with Americoat. Americoat is a proprietary silicone coating. It provides a clear, non-stick, non-toxic baking surface, specially formulated for superior baking. It's FDA approved; it does not contain PTFE's or PFOA's. It is not recommended to exceed baking temperature of 400 degrees F. Easy care. To clean, simply wipe clean after use; soap and water are okay to use. It is not recommended that pan be washed in dishwasher because harsh chemicals can cause the non-stick material to breakdown in time. Dry pan completely, after cleaning. This little pan solved my problem......until my daughter came over and swiped my pan. So I bought another one for me and now we both make pretty hot dog buns. One tip is to make smaller rolls than you think you should or they will crowd each other in the pan after rising. After making one overcrowded pan of buns you will figure it out and have perfectly shaped hot dog buns forever. Just hide your pan from your daughter.------------------- Update for Southern folks: OK, after a visit from a cousin that lives in New England I have to edit my review. Being from the south I had no idea what New England hot dog buns were. Now I know. You don't try to form rolls out of the dough. You roll it out the size of the pan about an inch thick, let it rise and bake the slab of dough that is in the pan. When it is done remove it from the pan and then cut into buns. Then slice part... For me, store-bought have a sawdust taste and texture. This pan worked great! I had absolutely tasty hot dog buns for this past Fourth of July. I used a recipe from a Donna Washburn and Heather Butts' Gluten Free cookbook (125 Best Gluten-Free Recipes) for hamburger buns. The dough rose beautifully in the pan. It is a nice sturdy weight. It has a non-stick surface, yet doesn't appear to be a teflon finish. It washed up easily. This is a great, quality product!!! 16 of 16 people found the following review helpful By Desert Delights (Vegas, Baby) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: USA Pans 15 x 6 x 1.5 Inch New England Hot Dog Pan, Aluminized Steel with Americoat (Kitchen) I recently moved from CT to Las Vegas, and was surprised to learn that no grocery stores out here carry NE Hot Dog rolls. These rolls are perfect slathered with butter and grilled, then stuffed with Clams, Lobster salad, or (gasp) even Hot Dogs when the economy is slow! I found a great recipe for these rolls on the King Arthur Flour Website. They were easy to make, an are much better than the commercial rolls! We now enjoy East coast delights in the Desert. The pan is very well constructed, and will easily outlast me. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. |
