It almost feels like it was made for camping. Whether you consider this to be a good thing or a bad thing is down to the individual. It is very, very light, which makes it ideal for older people, but I have no idea how durable it will be. If it breaks I'll be sure to write another review though! The whistle is pretty quiet. It is certainly not piercing like some whistles. I can hear it in another room with the door to the kitchen open, but I suspect the whistle wouldn't make it through a door. Again, this is good for me as I have a roommate, but if you want to hear it from the other side of your house this kettle isn't for you. The handle stays cool and it pours well, so no problems there. Size wise, it just (and I mean JUST!) covers the smallest ring on my electric stove top. In summary, this is a decent, light,... Plus it is cute. It's true what the other reviewers said about it being made of thin metal, but what would one expect for this low price? It boils water, and that's all I care about. I have had this kettle for a good 5 years now, and it is still in good condition. I just ordered another for my mother-in-law. 12 of 13 people found the following review helpful By This review is from: Copco Halo 1.2-Quart Brushed Stainless Steel Teakettle (Kitchen) I have a particular (perhaps, some may say, somewhat sick) affinity for inexpensive tea kettles. My stars wound up in alignment recently when I found this exact model at a local flea market in brand-new condition.I like that the handle folds down, so there's one star. It's well made, so that's another star. It's inexpensive (very much so in my instance), so there are three stars. And you can bring a full pot to the boil and pour off several cups without burning your fingers - therefore, four stars. I'm taking off one star as the whistle is weak; however, it sounds off loud enough to get one's attention that 'tea time' has arrived. Overall I'm pleased with this product - one of the better bargains in today's confused cornucopia of cheap import kitchen accessories. |
