| 20 of 20 people found the following review helpful  Awesome Set and Made in USA, By LoveCookin (Ohio) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: American Kitchen AK-710 Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Cookware Set (Kitchen) i bought this for myself for Christmas and it is awesome. i have been wanting a nice stainless steel set for over a year. last year i bought a small skillet (Marcus Samuelsson 10-Inch Stainless-Steel Skillet) in order to allow myself the opportunity to get used to cooking on stainless steel. it requires the use of lower heat and that was the most difficult part to get used to. my former cookware was Calphalon non-stick and the cooking temperatures are slightly higher.these are easy to clean and store. before using for the first time, wash with warm soapy water and dry immediately. use a clean paper towel and rub some oil on the inside cooking surface (i used coconut oil). Allow cookware to cool completly before washing. i dry the inside with a paper towel and they reapply oil. you can put these in the dishwasher, but i prefer hand washing. dishwashing may dull the shine of the pans, and since i hang my pots and pans, i prefer to keep the shine. i... I was looking for something that was tri-ply (all the way up) and made in the USA, and this set fit the bill. Now that I have had it for a little bit (with more updates hopefully to come later), here are my thoughts:-The cookware is heavy and sturdy with good handles that don't get hot while cooking. -Though I have not done any scientific testing to check this, heat application appears to be pretty uniform across the bottom of the pots. -The upper edge is flat with no funky rounding off that would inhibit cleaning. -The lids fit securely without being too tight. -The pots/pans come in sizes you actually want. For me, this meant no 1qt sauce pan (which would be too small) but instead a 2qt & 3 qt (I use the 3qt a lot), an 8qt pot instead of a 5/6 qt dutch oven (since you need an 8qt one anyway, and pretty much anything you can put in a 5/6 qt also can... Almost bought Cuisinart 12 Ply but customers felt that the quality wasn't the same. Looked at the stainless steel Calphalon (made in China). I didn't want an inexpensive set but didn't want top of the line either. I also always wanted to purchase an "American made" set if at all possible. I wanted quality (I keep my things for a long time) and wanted to support people here at home. Tired of giving my money to other countries! I purchased this set just before Thanksgiving. I had 30 people over and used these pans. My sister-in-law, who purchases All Clad, couldn't believe how similar they were to her All Clad pans! I am a 44-year-old mother of two and I couldn't be more pleased. As long as you follow the instructions....med to low heat.
