Product Description

Joyce Chen's slogan "Eastern Cookware for the Western Kitchen," reflects her focus on providing high-quality, versatile tools and products that have Asian flair, but can be used in a western kitchen. The 12" Nonstick Steel Wok Lid is a handy kitchen addition. If you've lost your lid or started your Joyce Chen cookware collection with a gift that didn't include a lid here's what you've been without. Will also fit many skillets and is a simple and easy cover for serving dishes. Features nonstick interior and exterior and birch wood knob. Joyce Chen opened her first restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1958. The restaurant flourished, and in 1973 a larger Cambridge restaurant was opened. Chen also began writing Chinese cookbooks and in the 1970s began hosting a cooking show on public television. She found that the selection and quality of Chinese cookware in America didn't live up to her high standards so she developed her own. Today, Joyce Chen Products come from all over the Pacific Rim to bring the best of Asia to you.

I just wanted to provide a few words to allay the concerns that other reviewers have expressed about the condition of their dome wok lids upon delivery. I ordered this Joyce Chen wok lid as well as the Lodge cast iron 14" wok at the same time. Shipping was handled by UPS and it was FREE. Both items were shipped in the same container and BOTH arrived in MINT CONDITION. I was a bit concerned that my dome wok lid might have suffered some of the same 'rough handling' that others may have experienced. However, there was not a ding, not a scratch, not a dent and no bending or wharping that affected my wok lid what so ever! I now have a perfect dome lid for my 14" Lodge cast iron wok AND my 14" T-Fal non-stick aluminum wok which I have owned and enjoyed for several months already. I tip my hat to the good folks at Amazon, Joyce Chen, Lodge and UPS for the most professional manufacturing, salemanship, packing, handling and prompt delivery of my order. I am looking forward to lots of... Read more

The lid was carelessly packaged. It arrived bent, warped, oval shaped, did not fit the round wok at all. Made of cheap material, buy something better!

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheaper Quality than expected. But its a lid, January 21, 2012

I was very impressed with my Joyce Chen light weight cast iron wok. And needed a lid for it. Read the articles about it being of low quality and thought "its a lid who cares". But the non-stick seems like its going to flake someday and the metal gives the impression it will warp over time. Also photos make it appear to be more of a half circle - nice and tall but its flatter than that.

Now all that being said its a wok lid and will work as such. If I were to do it again I'd get the stainless steel version and avoid one of my two concerns.
