Swiss Diamond 10" traditional fry pan shape features a revolutionary non-stick surface using diamond crystals to form a virtually indestructible non-stick cooking surface. Includes tempered glass cover with St. Steel rim, and steam-vent knob. The user will be able to cook small meals, eggs, and omelets with perfection. The non-stick surface will not peel, crack, or blister and provides perfect heat distribution for cooking meals containing less fat. The pan is made from a 6mm thick pressure cast aluminum which has a perfectly flat base for use on all ceramic, gas, and electric cook tops. The stay cool handle is ergonomically designed and is safe to use in an oven up to 500F. Metal utensils are safe to use on the non-stick surface and the pan is safe for use in the dishwasher. This Swiss company believes it has come up with a substitute that's even better than the original. Swiss Diamond coats the interiors of its cast aluminum pans with-of all things-diamond crystals. As it turns out, diamonds are excellent conductors of heat and produce an indestructible cooking surface that releases easily without the use of fats, doesn't peel or crack, and is even safe for the dishwasher and for use with metal utensils.

This 10-inch covered pan fries about four strips of bacon; sautés a bunch of scallions in butter; or, with the lid on, braises kale or collard greens. Beneath the diamond crystals, the pan is constructed of heavy cast aluminum, which is also a consistent heat conductor and has an extra-thick base that resists warping and is safe for any type of cooktop. The comfortable ergonomically designed handle and knob on the lid stay cool during cooking and are oven-safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Actually is non-stick, even with scrambled eggs. I heat the pan first as others suggested and use about a teaspoon of olive oil for most foods. Cleans up easily with a nylon brush and hasn't scratched at all. I like that the handle is solid and doesn't get hot, hasn't become at all loose. The glass lid is heavy and solid. Just wish I had bought a larger one than 10-inch.

Super product. Cleanup is a breeze. The pan appears to have a really tough non-stick surface. I have only had it a couple weeks, but the performance of the pan generates confidence that it is durable.

I really like cooking with this pan, It lives up to its billing as a NO STICK pan, much beter than teflon. I also use it with the vented top to steam. this is the 2nd swiss diamond pan I have purchase and any future pans will also be a swiss diamond product.
