These socks are ridiculously small! There is simply no way that you could fit all of the things that this product SAYS it will fit -- the drawing shows a chicken, some potatoes, carrots, etc. I make a lot of chicken soup, and I usually strain my broth through a strainer lined with a few layers of cheesecloth. I thought this product would be helpful to me and make it easier to produce clear broth -- after all, that's what it says it does.

I purchased these this afternoon, and there is a sock in my soup pot as we speak. It has one onion (quartered), two halved carrots, and two halved stalks of celery in it. I could probably put another onion or two in it and still manage to tie it in a knot at the top -- but a CHICKEN? No way!!!! This product does not have the capacity it advertises, and I just wasted $3.99 on it -- not that that's a lot of money, but it is still disappointing.

I recently used these in a soup cooking class, and these are the greatest things ever!! We made vegetable stock and the soup sock easily held onion, celery, carrot, herbs. The socks are rather stretchy and I could have easily doubled the amount of vegetables in the bag. Our instructor told us she puts a whole chicken ( or pieces) in the bag when making chicken stock, and I do believe it will fit. Clean up was the easiest ever. I just ordered 2 packs of these. I recommend them to anyone.
